Schools Challenge - A Celebration Garden - Week 1

This year, Luddington has entered the Lincolnshire Show Schools' Challenge. We have been tasked with creating a celebration garden to celebrate the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society's 150th birthday. The children involved will have to reserach, design, create and present to a judging panel and make an actual garden to display in the horticultural area of the Lincolnshire show. This week we have started the research and plotted out the size of the garden. The children have already got fantastic ideas and we can't wait to see what they will produce!

Schools' Challenge Week 2

This week saw the children compiling the information they gathered last week about the history of farming to create a presentation for the display at the Lincolnshire Show. The children also discovered who the first president of the Lincolnshire Show was in 1869 and have incorporated ideas about this into their designs. The children have all completed initial designs for the Celebration Garden and after Easter they will be splitting into two teams to create a combined design. Also, we have started on making notes for our journal, which gets judged in the show. Jess has started this for us by writing key facts and explaining what we have been doing.
