Autumn Term 2018

Essential Knowledge

By the end of this unit children will know...

  • Where Europe is in the world and the countries that belong to the continent.
  • The different countries in Europe such as flags, languages spoken and famous landmarks.
  • Different modes of transport that can be used to travel to Europe.
  • The importance of identity and how we use passports to travel outside of our own country and culture.
  • Facts about different tourist holiday destinations in Europe and present findings in a postcard.
  • The work of Claude Monet. They will create some of their own interpretations of his work.
  • Traditional songs from the different countries visited on our journey around Europe.

We have started using an app called Seesaw to share learning with families.

Please make sure you've asked for a log on so that you can see what we've been doing in class.

PE Days

PE will be on a Monday and Wednesday every week.

Please make sure that you send PE kit in on these days.

Thank you

POWer project (homework)

Please see the attached homework POWer project for the Autumn Term.  A letter will be sent out in September to explain in further detail - children have half a term to collect at least 5 POWer points.  Please send the homework in during the last week before half term. Thank you

Useful websites

Here is a list of the websites we use regularly in school.

Please see your child's teacher if you'd like some help logging on.  Most can either be played on tablets or computers.

Parent Pay

From September, we will be using Parent Pay as the main system for paying for school meals (KS2), clubs and trips.   You will be receiving further information when the system is set up.

We won't be receiving any cash into school once Parent Pay is up and running.

Please see Mrs Morton if you would like some help setting Parent Pay up on your phone.

Thank you
